I received this information from Heshron yesterday lunch time and wanted to share this news with you.
Just a brief line to acknowledge the receipt of your Albella News letter which we enjoyed reading it. Many thanks.
Right now all the school & colleges in the hills are closed in the wake of the recent earthquake.
On Monday we had another earthquake lasted for about 5 seconds and the epicentre was Mirik in the Darjeeling district about 3 hours’ drive from Kalimpong. There were a few casualties in Mirik and Siliguri but not in Kalimpong except a few minor damages to the property.
As per the recent newspaper & Television reports , more such earthquakes are anticipated in
the hills of Darjeeling districts , Assam , Bihar & Uttar Pradesh. People are really very scared and even started sleeping outside their houses in the open ground . All our small children at Bonami are now sleeping on the ground floor of the building and also kept the Barbara Hall ready where children play during the rainy season . In Siliguri many families
are sleeping in the football ground fearing more bigger earthquake .
As far as possible we are trying not to use the concrete building for sometimes. I know nothing
will happen but this is just for precautionary measures so the children are not panicky in
case more such tremors occurs. People have been living under fear all the time thinking that
there might be another big earthquake .
We did have a couple of aftershocks which is mainly triggered by the main earthquake in Nepal .
Please do continue to pray for this area . We’re all in His hands and I am confident that
everything is going to be fine again.
Please do share with our supporters. Thanks.
Regards & best wishes.
